Sacramento, CA (June 27, 2018) – Californians have come to realize that wildfire season is now a year-round, threat. To continue the effort to help homeowners and business owners understand what it takes to be prepared for an inevitable fire, representatives from The California Fire Safe Council (CFSC), San Diego Fire Department, Farmers Insurance®, Fire Safe Council of San Diego County, Cal Fire/State Board of Fire Services, Bureau of Land Management and Fire Services Training Institute manned booths at the San Diego County Fair June 22-24 and provided important information on how to mitigate the potential danger of wildfires.
“The Fair drew crowds in excess of 50,000 per day,” said Jerry Davies, Chair of CFSC. It really gave all of the agencies a chance to discuss wildfire preparation and a Ready-Set-Go approach to dealing with wildfires.”
Fair-goers also toured the Farmers® Mobile Claims Center bus which is regularly deployed to communities across the country to assist customers and non-customers, alike, impacted by natural disasters.
“We receive up to thirty calls a day in San Diego, and I can’t stress enough the importance of being prepared.. One of the most important reminders to all residents is being ready to evacuate in a serious wildfire situation,” said Jason Shanley
Fire Captain-Recruitment Officer, City of San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
CFSC will appear at the Ventura County Fair, August 3-5; Sonoma County Fair, August 10-12 and Los Angeles County Fair September 7-9. Local Fire Safe Councils and fire agencies in these areas are invited to participate.
